My Religion is You

For the record, I just had to buy additional google space in order to upload these photos. All of my readers owe me their split of $5/year. So that calculates to $1 a person.

Good morning class. Today we will be covering the 2011 Lady Gaga Monster Ball Tour by reviewing set list, costume changes and boys, boys & boys.

I bought tickets to the March 8th, 2011 show approximately one year in advance because the July 2010 had sold out and the March 2011 show was added. Some of my friends felt that they could not commit to a date that far in the future because I guess some of them "do things". But, me, Marcy, Mary and Krista have enough foresight and wisdom to know that we a) would not be "doing things" in a year and b) seeing Gaga is a must.

We had standing room, general admission at TD Banknorth and a great view. The concert was divided into four acts, plus an encore. Between each act there was, of course, costume and set changes and a video screen showing a variety of visceral images. Such images included: Gaga eating a heart; a woman vomiting a turquoise substance onto Gaga; Gaga's butt cheeks.

The four acts followed a story line of Gaga and her friends getting lost in New York on the way to the monster ball.

Act 1: City

Act 2: Subway

 Boys, boys, boys, indeed!

Sitting down for the first time when preforming her new song. There also was less crazy crap going on while she preformed this one and it was very soulful and welcomed change of pace.

Act 3: Forest

Could it be??? AHHHH the Monster Ball!!!

Act 4: Monster Ball

Throughout the show, Gaga made shout outs to all of her "little monsters" as well as her favorites--"the gays of Boston". She spoke in a breathy voice about how far "we" (she) hav come in "our" (her) "lives" (career). In general, the message was a good one about acceptance of differences; that no one is a freak; and baby, we were born this way.

She played all of the fan favorites including "Just Dance", "Boys Boys Boys", "Poked Face", "Paparazzi", "Bad Romance" and "Born this way". In addition, to played one new song "Glitter and Grease", which was lovely and a few songs that I love and wasn't necessarily expecting: "Teeth", "Dance in the Dark", and "Telephone" (sans Beyonce).

To be honest, my favorite moment of this whole experience was when before entering the arena  a very slender 6'0'' tall boy, approximate age of 20 strutted by with 8'' platforms to which Marcy exclaimed, "Are you going to be wearing those heels for the whole show? You'll see!!! Your feet are going to be killing!", to which Strutty McGoo replied, "Worrrrk it girrrrl", and sauntered off.

Can't wait for Born This Way tour 2012, or whatever. !
